Herbal pharma manufacturing — ranges, capacity and what we can produce for you
Herbal pharma manufacturing covers everything between an approved composition and a sealed, labelled pack: sourcing the herbs, preparing the dosage form, filling, packing, labelling and the batch records that go with the consignment. Zivi Herbals manufactures and markets its own range of 168 Ayurvedic and herbal products, and takes on manufacturing enquiries from brands and distributors who want herbal products made to their specification.
This page describes what we make, the pack formats available, how an order runs from enquiry to dispatch, and what you should prepare before asking for a quotation.
What we manufacture
Our own catalogue is the clearest picture of our capability, because every item in it is produced, packed and supplied regularly:
- Herbal syrups and liquid orals — 37 products. Mostly 100 ml and 200 ml packs: liver and digestive tonics, cough preparations, women's health syrups, general tonics.
- Tablets and capsules — 47 products. Usually supplied in 10×10 blisters, covering joint care, immunity, digestive and general wellness formulations.
- Pediatric preparations — 6 products. Formulated and packed for children.
- Ayurvedic cosmetics — 17 products. Creams, ointments, soaps, face care and hair care.
- Other herbal products — 31 products. External oils, powders, sprays and specialised items in pack sizes from 30 ml upward.
- Herbal juices — 9 products. Single and combination juices in larger bottles.
- Classical preparations — 9 products. Traditional Ayurvedic formulations for practitioners who prescribe them.
- Single-herb capsules — 12 products. Straightforward single-ingredient products.
The full list, with composition, pack size and MRP for each item, is on the products page and in the downloadable price list.
Pack formats
Pack choice decides shelf presence as much as cost, so it is worth settling early:
- Liquids: 30 ml, 60 ml, 100 ml, 200 ml and larger juice bottles, with tamper-evident closures.
- Blisters: 10×10 as standard; smaller strips where a course pack suits the product better.
- Jars and tubes: for creams, ointments and powders.
- Cartons and shippers: printed mono-cartons for retail presentation and outer cartons sized for transport.
Formats outside this list can usually be arranged, depending on packing-material availability and the quantity involved.
How an order runs
- Enquiry. You send the product list or composition, dosage form, pack size and approximate quantity.
- Feasibility. We confirm what can be produced as asked, and flag anything that needs a change — an ingredient that is difficult to source, or a pack that is not practical for that formulation.
- Quotation. Per-unit pricing against the quantity and pack, with the minimum order quantity stated for each item.
- Documents. Your drug licence, GST registration and brand-name paperwork.
- Artwork. You supply print-ready artwork or a brief. Labels must carry composition, batch number, manufacturing and expiry dates, net quantity, MRP and manufacturer details, as required for Ayurvedic products.
- Approval. Label proof — and a sample where the brief calls for one — approved by you in writing before the run.
- Production and packing. The batch is produced against its batch number, filled, packed and cartoned.
- Dispatch. Goods leave with the invoice and batch documentation.
Quality through the batch
Consistency is what separates a supplier you keep from one you try once. Three habits do most of the work:
Check materials on receipt. Herbs and excipients are received against the approved composition and checked for identity, appearance and supplier documentation before they go anywhere near a batch.
Check during the run, not only after it. Fill volume, weight, blister sealing and closure integrity are checked while the batch is running, which is the only point at which a problem can still be corrected cheaply.
Keep the batch traceable. One batch number runs through production, packing, labelling and the invoice, so any query from a distributor can be traced back to a specific run.
Timelines and quantities
Two things drive the schedule more than production itself: packing material and artwork approval. Brands that approve artwork quickly and settle pack sizes early get goods weeks sooner than those who change the label after material has been ordered. Quantity drives price — the same formulation costs meaningfully less per unit at a larger batch size, because set-up and packing material costs spread further.
Because it depends on formulation, pack and quantity, there is no single rate card. Send a list and we quote against it, with minimum order quantities per item so you can plan working capital honestly.
Who we manufacture for
- PCD franchise partners selling the Zivi Herbals brand in their territory. See Ayurvedic PCD pharma franchise.
- Brand owners who want herbal products made under their own name — the process is set out on herbal third-party manufacturing.
- Distributors and stockists adding a herbal range to an existing pharma portfolio.
If you want the technical detail of how each dosage form is produced, our Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing page goes through the process step by step.
What to prepare before you ask for a quote
- The product list or composition, with dosage form for each item.
- Pack size you want, and whether a mono-carton is needed.
- Quantity per item — realistic, not aspirational, so the quote matches your first order.
- Your licence and GST details.
- Artwork, or a brief and your brand name.
Sending these together usually turns a week of back-and-forth into a single reply.
Storage and handling after dispatch
Herbal products dislike heat and humidity. Keep stock in a dry room out of direct sunlight, keep cartons off the floor, rotate first-expiry-first-out, and give syrups and juices the coolest part of the godown in summer. Most complaints that reach a manufacturer start as storage problems in the distribution chain, and good rotation prevents nearly all of them.
